The Code of Professional Responsibility and Accountability (CPRA) introduced the rules on Limited Legal Services. The CPRA defines limited legal services as services for a specific legal incident, with the expectation by the lawyer and the client that the lawyer will not provide continuing legal services in the matter.
Under Republic Act No. 11362 also known as the Community Service Act, the court may, in its discretion, and lieu of service in jail, require that the penalties of arresto menor and arresto mayor be served by the defendant by rendering community service in the place where the crime was committed, and under such terms as the court shall determine, taking into consideration the gravity of the offense and the circumstances of the case.
The 2024 Department of Justice- National Prosecution Service (DOJ-NPS) Rules on Preliminary Investigations and Inquest Proceedings shall govern the conduct of preliminary investigations and inquest proceedings in all prosecution offices in the National Prosecution Service of the Department of Justice as enumerated in R.A. Republic Act No. 9492 dated July 24, 2007 amended Section 26, Chapter 7, Book I of Executive Order (EO) No. 292, also known as the Administrative Code of 1987, by declaring certain days (specific or movable) as special or regular holidays.
One of the regular holidays in 2025 is the Araw ng Kagitingan which is celebrated every April 9.
