Can foreign investors lease private lands in the Philippines?

Under the Condominium Act, any foreign investor shall be allowed to lease private lands in the Philippines provided that the lease contract shall be for a period not exceeding 50 years but may be renewed once for not more than 25 years, the leased area is used solely for the purpose of investment and the leased premises comprise of such area as may reasonably be required for the purpose of the investment.

When is occupational disease and the resulting disability or death compensable?

A compensable sickness is defined in the case of Carmen Santos v. Employee’s Compensation Commission (G.R. Can members of the Indigenous Cultural Communities secure titles with respect to their ancestral lands?

Individual members of cultural communities, with respect to their individually-owned ancestral lands who, by themselves or through their predecessors-in-interest, have been in continuous possession and occupation of the same in the concept of owner since time immemorial or for a period of not less than thirty (30) years immediately preceding the approval of this Act and uncontested by the members of the same ICCs/IPs shall have the option to secure title to their ancestral lands.
