September 16 to 22 of every year is declared as Design Consciousness Week in consideration of the importance of improvement in product design, quality and adaptability to suit the functional needs and aesthetic tastes of foreign market. (Proclamation No. 1259, series of 1974)

Proclamation No. 2054, s. 2010, proclaims the month of September as “Cybersecurity Awareness Month”.

It is the policy of the State to protect public health and, when the public interest or circumstances of extreme urgency so require, it shall adopt appropriate measures to promote and ensure access to affordable quality drugs and medicines for all.

The fifteenth (15th) day of September of every year is declared as Philippine Medicine Day, as per Proclamation No. 407, series of 1953.

The Social Security System (SSS) is responsible for administering social security benefits for employees in the private sector. Social security serves as a safety net, offering financial support to workers in cases of death, disability, sickness, maternity, and old age.

Coverage in the Social Security System (SSS) shall be compulsory upon all sea-based overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) as defined under Republic Act No. 8042, or the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995, as amended by Republic Act No. 10022, provided that they are not over sixty (60) years of age. (Section 9-B, par. a, Republic Act No. 11199)

It is the policy of the State to establish, develop, promote, and perfect a sound and viable tax-exempt social security system suitable to the needs of the people throughout the Republic of the Philippines which shall promote social justice through savings, and ensure meaningful social security protection to members and their beneficiaries against the hazards of disability, sickness, maternity, old age, death, and other contingencies resulting in loss of income or financial burden. (Rule 2, Section 1, Implementing Rules and Regulations of R.A. 11199 or the Social Security Act of 2018)

The second week of September of every year is declared as “Education Week”. During this period, vital information about the objectives, work and accomplishments of public and private schools may be disseminated. (Proclamation No. 409, series of 1953)

The month of September is declared as the Philippine Social Security Month by virtue of Proclamation No. 682, series of 2004.

September 8 of every year is declared as National Literacy Day (Proclamation No. 1886, s. 1979)
